I got this USB camera to use for some machine learning and computer vision experiments on a raspberry pi 4 using a coral accelerator. For my purposes, it works great! There isn’t a whole lot I can say about a USB web camera that all these other reviewers haven’t already said, other than this one comes with a fancy telephoto lens. Adjustment is easy enough by turning the rings and then locking it in with the set screws.IR cut is nice for getting true color images, but not so great for using with IR LEDs for night vision, but most of my tinkering is of daytime images anyway, but I’m not sure how easy it would be to remove the filter if you wanted to. I have done that modification to a lot of webcams over the years, with increasing difficulty as camera imagers have gotten smaller and more fragile. As the description covers, it works with OpenCV and all the usual suspect webcam compatible software packages out there. So points for compatibility! As for clarity, it is a USB 2.0 web camera, so keep that in mind. 15FPS at full resolution isn’t exactly Red Camera territory... So temper your expectations a bit and you won’t be disappointed. If your use case is tinkering with computer vision on a raspberry pi, a simple wildlife camera, or just keeping an eye on those pesky neighbors, I can recommend this camera for sure. If you need highspeed FPS or counting hairs on a mosquito’s backside at 25 yards, maybe not so much!
