I only “discovered” this when almost done selling my Canon EF gear for a switch canon R to Nikon Z. I may have kept more of it if it saved me time and possibly money in trying to find equivalent glass in Nikon line-up. It now makes me consider buying some of it back (some of the used F1.2 prime and some of the cheaper but still excellent tele lenses)It works so well and I don’t always trust older lens IS against Mirrorless IBIS (clearly stated upon purchase that it would not sync IS with IBIS). Well I wished for respective Canon and Nikon systems, one could switch off IS/VR on lens only! Now I can just do that when paired with Z8.Build quality is very high, feels tight with a very very slight play in rotation that is common to any adapter: definitely better than my EF-EOS R adapter! There is no play in the contacts or seals: yes, weather sealing is preserved as well!It costs significantly more than a standard adapter but it is offset by savings made on lenses and system switch. Otherwise, it gives unique opportunities for those who are brand agnostic.Having access to native Z lens, F lens with adapter and now all first and third-party EF lenses opens up for a near perfect combination of lenses at reasonable costs. However I would not build a system just based on that: the adapter is bulky and many newer and affordable mirrorless lenses will be better than old “professional” ones, and smaller/lighter.Definitely worth a consideration if you are after som specialized lens + camera setup or want to hold EF glass but still want to explore the amazing Z camera and lens line-up (as of 2024, Nikon has made remarkable innovation even if I have always enjoyed Canon gear).Note, EXIF data may report a close Equivalent Nikon F lens rather than the true Canon EF one.
